House style
From SADwiki, the open SAD resource site for Seasonal Affective Disorder sufferers
When creating pages, please try to stick to the house style where possible, as well as follow the other guidelines below. For more information on how to apply the house styles and formatting, please view the syntax page.
Page Layout
Where possible, long pages should be divided up into sections for readability. Section headings within a page should start at the
h2 size, and sub-headings within each section go down in size incrementally.
Highlighting text
It is recommended to embolden a few key words in the first paragraph of each article in order to draw the readers' attention.
Linking
A
wiki is built upon the concept of linking pages to eachother, the usefulness and credibility of articles is greatly improved if further elaboration on the subject matter is easily and contextually available.
Article Links
Articles should be linked to others through the body of the text wherever possible. If that is not possible, a 'See Also' section at the bottom of a page is acceptable.
See Also links
If it is not possible to provide links to pages through the body of an article, or if you believe that it would be beneficial to provide a summary of relevant pages, a 'See Also' section can be added to the end of an article with an h2 weight heading.
External links
External links should only be entered at the end of the page in a clearly designated 'External Links' section. This section is to go
below the 'See Also' section.
Tables of Contents
If a page grows to the size where it may become difficult to navigate easily, it may be worthwhile providing a 'Table of Contents' at the top. Further information on how to do this is available in the
syntax section.
